Cargo Intelligence

Automatic data extraction from cargo documents

One login, four modules. Every document type is extracted automatically — CMR, fuel receipts, rail waybills, B/L and AWB. A fixed monthly price, independent of the result. Customs and VAT documents are processed as additional services for the same flows.

What manual entry costs

Every CMR, fuel receipt or waybill an employee enters by hand costs minutes — and over a month that adds up to real work hours that could go to something else. Cargo Intelligence extracts the same fields automatically from a PDF or scanned document.

~4–6 minto manually enter one CMR consignment note
~20–30 hrs/moat 300 documents a month
0fields you need to enter by hand once the module is running

This is an illustrative calculation, not confirmed statistics — actual time depends on your document flow and systems.

How it works

01You upload

Upload a document (PDF or photo) through the portal — no manual entry. On the Enterprise plan, also via REST API, straight from your systems.

02We recognize it

The system extracts structured fields based on the document type and flags cases that need your confirmation.

03You export

Data is available through the portal on every plan, or via REST API (JSON format) on the Enterprise plan.

4 core modules

The plan limits the number of core modules — these are the document types we process, selected immediately with no approval step. The "Add-ons" below are NOT additional modules — they only extend the data of these four with a new output, don't count against the plan limit, but require the relevant module. The "Additional modules" (further below) are ALSO full, standalone modules — they simply require a personal contact to activate, not anonymous self-service.

What extraction looks like

An example, not a live demo — you upload a real document through the portal (or REST API, on the Enterprise plan).

Add-ons

Activated immediately with your order — each add-on requires the relevant module, but doesn't count against the plan's module limit.

eFTI Ready — requires the CMR module

Currently a free beta

Included in every plan — no higher plan and no extra module needed. On 9 July 2027 the EU eFTI regulation (2020/1056) takes full effect. The CMR module already structures your data in eFTI format today and has an e-CMR status-tracking foundation (currently in beta). From 2027-07-09 a fixed +€39/mo add-on applies.

CSRD / Scope 3 — requires the Fuel module

+€49/mo or a €199 one-time report

The Fuel module converts your consumed liters into CO₂e and MWh using publicly published factors, broken down by period and vehicle in a PDF report.

VAT and excise refund detection — requires the Fuel module

+€49/mo

The same Fuel module documents — we flag which ones carry VAT paid abroad, track the €400 threshold and the 30 September deadline. Doesn't provide tax advice and doesn't file an application with the tax authority.

Emissions surcharge check — requires the Sea and air module

+€49/mo for ongoing monitoring or 25% gain-share for the historic review

We check whether the EU ETS and FuelEU scope rule (50 % or 100 %) was applied correctly based on the loading and discharge port codes — the scope is identical for both regulations. When a carrier merges the two into one line the check is no longer possible; we flag that and prepare a split request. The historic review of past invoices is built into the Freight invoice audit module.

6 additional modules

These are ALSO full, standalone modules with their own documents and findings — not add-ons. Activated with admin approval — a personal contact before activation, not anonymous self-service, because at least one of them involves legal risk or a conflict of interest.

We compare your receipts against their refund report: 25 % of the additionally recovered amount (capped at €5,000 per report, no fee below €100) or a fixed €1,490. Minimum 10 vehicles. Frequently asked questions

Where is our data processed and stored?

The core infrastructure runs on netcup GmbH (application, database) and Hetzner Online GmbH (document storage) servers in Nuremberg, Germany. For encrypted backups we use Akenes SA/Exoscale (Vienna, Austria). For document data extraction (AI recognition) we use Anthropic PBC (USA) — based on the EU standard contractual clauses (GDPR Art. 46). Details in the data processing agreement and the subprocessor list.

Can I use only Cargo Intelligence, without the D&D audit?

Yes. Cargo Intelligence is a separate, standalone service with a fixed monthly price — it doesn't depend on whether you use the D&D audit. Existing D&D audit clients get a 20% discount on any Cargo Intelligence plan.

What does the system do when it can't read a field?

Every extraction gets a confidence score based on how many required fields were actually filled in — not a fixed number, the same for every document. When a document is unusual or poor quality, the system does NOT guess the missing value — the field stays blank, and a low confidence score clearly shows it needs your review, instead of silently recording a wrong but "correct-looking" value.

Calculators

Do you have demurrage invoices from past months? The Sea module extracts your container data. That same data lets you check whether the carrier's demurrage invoices were calculated correctly.

D&D audit — the initial review is free, you pay 25% only of what's actually recovered. If we recover nothing, you pay nothing.
